Where does the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour depart from?

The tour departs from the Simply Savannah Depot located at 301 East River Street. We are situated directly to the right of the Lincoln Street ramp on River Street. All guests should arrive at the depot at least 15 to 20 minutes before their scheduled departure for check-in.

How long is the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah ghost tour?

The Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long. This time includes the narrated “frightseeing” journey on the trolley as well as the walking portions at our exclusive haunted stops. Total duration may vary slightly based on local traffic and boarding.

Is the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour wheelchair accessible?

Reasonable accommodations for all of our disabled guests will be made. Please call us at least 24 hours in advance so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

Unfortunately, because our Ghosts & Gravestones vehicles do not have wheelchair lifts and a significant portion of our tour takes place in historic sites that do not have any accommodations for people with disabilities (as historic sites, they are exempt from such requirements), and include stairs, cobblestones, and other types of rough terrain, the tour is not recommended for guests who are unable to safely navigate such elements.

Does the Savannah ghost tour run if it is raining?

Yes, our tours operate rain or shine unless weather conditions are deemed dangerous. The Trolley of the Doomed is a covered vehicle, keeping you shielded from the elements during the drive. We suggest bringing an umbrella or poncho for the brief walking segments at the haunted sites.

Where can I find parking for the Ghosts & Gravestones tour in Savannah?

The closest parking is found at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Bay Street. While there are three small lots on River Street, they fill up quickly; we recommend the Lincoln Parking Garage at 20 Lincoln Street. Metered parking on Bay Street is free after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.

How far in advance should I book my Savannah ghost tour tickets?

We recommend booking as early as possible, as tours sell out nightly. Reservations are required for all guests. If you are visiting during the month of October or on a holiday weekend, we suggest booking several weeks in advance to secure your preferred time.

Do we get off the trolley during the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour?

Yes, you will disembark to enter two of Savannah’s most haunted locations. This is not just a riding tour; you will step off the trolley for exclusive nighttime entry into the Andrew Low House and Perkins and Sons Ship Chandlery. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended for these segments.

Is the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour appropriate for children?

The tour is rated PG-13 and is not recommended for children under 10. While we don’t use jump-scares, the stories involve graphic historical tragedies and a dark atmosphere. Children under the age of 6 are strictly prohibited from joining the tour for safety and experience reasons.

Are there age restrictions for the Savannah Trolley of the Doomed?

Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on the tour. Because of the mature themes and “frightseeing” nature of the experience, we rate the tour PG-13. Additionally, all guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Will we see real ghosts on the Savannah Ghosts & Gravestones tour?

We cannot guarantee a sighting, but we take you to the city’s most active “hot spots.” Many guests have captured unexplained anomalies in photos or reported cold spots and heavy atmospheres. Your Ghost Host will guide you through documented paranormal accounts at sites with long histories of spirit activity.

Is the Ghosts & Gravestones tour a walking tour or a trolley tour?

It is a trolley tour that includes two significant walking stops. You will ride through the historic district on the Trolley of the Doomed for the narration, but the highlight of the experience is disembarking to walk through the haunted interiors of our partner locations.

Which haunted places are visited on the Ghosts & Gravestones Savannah tour?

We provide exclusive entry to the Andrew Low House and Perkins and Sons Ship Chandlery. Along the route, you will also pass by legendary sites such as the Sorrel-Weed House, historic cemeteries, and the moss-draped squares where Savannah’s most famous spirits are said to linger.

Do we go inside the Andrew Low House during the ghost tour?

Yes, our guests receive exclusive nighttime entry into the Andrew Low House. You will walk through the formal rooms of this 1848 mansion while hearing tales of the spirits reported there. Note: The house may be closed for maintenance for two weeks every January; check the schedule for updates.

What is the history of the Perkins and Sons Ship Chandlery on River Street?

The Chandlery was a 19th-century warehouse essential to Savannah’s shipping industry. Today, it serves as a “haunted” museum where the building’s original brick and timber create an eerie backdrop for stories of the tragedies that occurred along the bustling, often dangerous, Savannah riverfront.

What paranormal activity has been reported at the Andrew Low House?

Common reports include the scent of perfume and sightings of a ghostly butler. Witnesses have claimed to see the spirit of Tom, the longtime butler, on the stairs, and many feel a distinct presence in the upper rooms of this historic Lafayette Square mansion.

Which Savannah squares does the Ghosts & Gravestones tour pass through?

The tour passes through several squares, including Wright Square and Lafayette Square. Savannah’s squares are often built atop former burial grounds, and your Ghost Host will explain why these beautiful parks are often considered the most haunted patches of earth in the city.

What should I wear for a Savannah ghost tour in the evening?

Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the current evening weather. You will be walking on uneven historic surfaces and climbing stairs at the Andrew Low House. Since the trolley is open-air on the sides, a light jacket is recommended for cooler nights.

Are photos and videos allowed during the Ghosts & Gravestones tour?

Photography is allowed, but flash and video recording are prohibited inside the historic houses. We encourage you to take photos during the trolley ride and outside the sites to capture “orbs,” but we must protect the historic integrity and atmosphere of the building interiors.

Can I bring food or drinks on the Savannah Trolley of the Doomed?

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted on the trolley. However, alcohol is strictly forbidden on the vehicle. We ask that you use caution with open containers and ensure all trash is removed at the end of your 75-minute journey.

Are service animals allowed on the Savannah ghost tour?

Yes, we welcome legitimate service animals as defined by the ADA. Please note that emotional support animals, comfort animals, and pets are not permitted. Because the tour involves narrow stairs and dark spaces, please ensure your service animal is comfortable in crowded, low-light environments.
